As these platforms – characterized by the use of algorithmic ally-managed digital networks to connect users with demand and users with n eed – insert themselves into societies, discussions about the implications of the platform economy have begun and views span a spectrum of a perfect o pportunity for a truly inclusive economy to a looming economic doom. Schola rs have taken some major approaches to explain outcomes for platform econom y: innovation, labor and legal issues. The panel further weighs in by provi ding perspectives from different areas:\n\n- Socio-cultural - How do the pl atforms adapt to specific country cultures? Who are the winners and losers in this technological revolution?\n- Technological - What would be the impa ct of blockchain technology? Are startup valuations justified by the curren t trends?\n- Economic - In what ways do they really “disrupt” t he existing economic structures?
